Only had one major loss and it was a biggie. Lost just over $100,000 on ILF, an ING real estate fund.
Reason for the loss was that I trusted the name ING, believing it to be trustworthy. Too late I realised that IlF were skillful at twisting the facts.(Eventually ING fired the ILF directors).
Lesson learned: Read company reports carefully and cynically. Look for hidden meanings (not too hard to find). Remember many companies, especially wannabes, report only good news and completely avoid the bad.
