smaller holders only need to invest much more than their original invest if the bought in recently.
say you bought at $3 and the share issue is 6:1 at 20c to raise $300m then you will only need to put in 40% of your original investment- still a sizeable investment.
The loan I think has to be paid back from the proceed of the capital raise I would have thought.
I think a successful capital raise would reduce or eliminate the need for asset sales.
