Global markets all rose heavily overnight.
In Europe, the FTSE rose 53 points (.66%), the DAX rose 171 points (.94%) and the CAC rose 64 points (.86%).
In the US, the DOW rose 429 points (1.09%), the NBI rose 62 points (1.35%), the Nasdaq Composite rose 218 points (1.18%) and the Russell small cap index rose 22 points (1.10%).
US FED chair, Jerome Powell made comments on interest rates that buoyed market hopes on interest cuts that stirred up the markets.
Jerome Powell hinted that the stage is set for lowering interest rates due to cooling inflation. He also cautioned that keeping interest rates at elevated levels for too long could weaken the economy.
US COI data for June is due tomorrow. Market expectations are for a drop to 3.1% from May's 3.3%.
US Treasury 10 year bond yield is at 4.28%.
Oil price is steady - Brent crude at US$85.38 per barrel.
Gold price is up to US$2,371.39 per oz.
BITCOIN continues to be under pressure and sits at US$57,289.
