So I looked through yesterday's course of trades, all 2187 of them, by eye, looking for interesting patterns. Nothing much to see.
The majority of them, of course, were Cross Trades at $0.2175, which had the effect of holding the price very close to that value. If you weren't in the exclusive cross trading club, you probably had to step around their little private street party to trade a bit higher or a bit lower, if you wanted an order filled.
The vast majority of trades were less than $500, with many, as usual for one, two, three, five or so shares . At the other end of the Bell Curve there were very few orders filled for above 100,000 shares, only about 20, I didn't count that accurately.
The highest filled order I could find all day was 400,000 shares. In fact the order I'm placing at Market Open on Monday would have been the 7th largest order filled, if I'd placed it yesterday. Of course many large orders get minced up going through the Market these days, being matched with tiny orders on the other side of the trade.
No matter what the intention of the $0.2175 Club I reckon their actions are acting in favour of imminent buyers like myself by working to hold the price absolutely steady. Any break upwards, when it comes, will be all that more obvious. It's almost like the $0.2175 bots are our friendly covering fire. I'm not going to thank them [unless they actually are friendlys] but I am going to take advantage of them.
The exposure of the $0.2175 Club at any one time could be very small. If the trading is back and forth, tennis match style, then only a very small number of shares needs to be in play at any time.
I'll have a bit more to say over the weekend. Meanwhile, this is not an ASX busting exercise, nor the first shot in a revolution. It's just a flash mob, solely focussed on the STX situation.
