The announcement that is likely to have a big impact on the share price is a deal with a strategic investor. The screenshot below from the most recent investor presentation is the best indication of timing. It is not clear if we will get an announcement about whether any parties have progressed from stage 1 to stage 2. Progression from Stage 1 to Stage 2 was expected to occur around now - but may not be announced due to confidentiality / non disclosure agreements.

MGT have recently announced a heads of agreement with Japanese JFE Shoji and CEO Tim Dobson said in a Proactive Investor interview that JFE would provide 10s of millions of dollars for DFS. Therefore there is definitely potential for a substantial deal to be done.

From the Project Update announcement (16 April 2024), the company then said "The Company is now assisting these parties with their due diligence review of this material before engaging in discussions on investment terms which are expected to conclude in the June Quarter of 2024. The number of Strategic Investors will then be reduced prior to entering the final stage when confirmatory due diligence will be completed, and definitive investment terms agreed upon"

So hard to say when we will hear something about the progress of progression of discussions or any deal. However, it would be possible for Hawsons to be in that stage where confirmatory due diligence is being performed and definitive investment terms being agreed as not all companies would be like JFE and give consent for it to be announced that they are in the due diligence stage of a transaction.
