Different situation but i do understand some similarities that may on the surface look the same as intended.

Chamberlain was in no position to orchestrate peace, his country was broke and military was wiped out.

Today is different, we the west are very strong militarily even with Europe not spending enough on defense over the decades, Trump has been trying to make Europe spend like they should on military ever since 2016 and now has got most of them up to or above the longstanding 2% goal. Trump also reversed Obama's cuts to the US military and spent more, Putin has no plans imo for taking Europe, he's not stupid imo.
