Talk to her whenever you need to. No, you are not going mad. I'm sure that she is looking down at you and guiding you. Legal requirements are a nightmare. So many rules and regulations. Are you making any friends at the home? Any hobbies ?
You do know that you will be fine. Many of us have had major incidents in our life which have completely turned our worlds upside down, including me. Listen to your heart and do what makes you happy. Take care.
