    productivity is the key.

    normally one man using his bare hand can catch a fish each day
    another man sacrifices his daily fish to build a net
    the net works
    instead of one fish the man catches two fish

    this leads to the man with net having an extra fish

    with that extra fish, he can afford to employ boat builders and sushi chefs etc

    Just raising wages does not raise productivity.

    It just takes money away from assets that could be used to increase productivity.

    that is where keynesian spend philosophy has got it wrong.
    they don't include the concept of productivity
