Based on results released for Block A of 22 million m2 and average thickness of 16.3m and a SG of 1.5 -1.6 the coal calculation is 500 - 600 million tonnes. The areas in B + C look around the same as Area A [by visual inspection] so the target range of 1.0 - 1.5 billion tonnes seems very reasonable.
The low depth to the coal of around 40 metres promises a low strip ratio and thus an attractive mining cost.
The shape of the lease is irregular but given the big footprint that AFR has over the seam [on results to date] AFR may be able to acquire add-on areas.
