What can we infer from the buyback?
I would suggest that if CFE feel confident enough to begin to spend what cash they have on the buyback, then they are reasonably confident of coming into more cash in the forseeable future.
So, CFE must be expecting a resolution from MCC's owed $80m, or from Sappes, or from one of the other assets for sale.
Remember how TS said that he would buyback shares after Marampa was sold.
That CFE are buyback shares is a bullish sign. Investors can buy knowing that the price is likely to be supported; that CFE sees the value in buying their own shares at current prices; and that CFE are likely to be refilling the coffers in the near-term.
All good.
