I have a list of rules that wouldn't allow that in the first place.
One of these is that, the resource sector being highly volatile and cyclical, I don't invest money in it if I can't keep it there for 5 to 10 years.
Analysts are consistently wrong about commodity prices so short term resource punts are like gambling to me.
IMO, the best that can be done in this sector is buying underestimated businesses in a cyclical low/lowish and hope for the best.
