If the Kremlin didn't oppressively, savagely and brutally occupy many eastern European countries against their will after the end of WW2 then there would never have been a need for Nato. But the Kremlin just replaced the Nazi's, their former allies, in terms of being horrible, oppressive fascist regime.
And you wonder why so many European countries hate Russia.
