life will go on but I am still inclined to think trump is unpredictable. I think the mistake is to judge such as him as one would a “normal “ person

my view over decades of watching the man (way before he ever thought of being president) is that he is narcissist through and through and while he is street smart I’m not convinced he’s clever. His word salads are an appalling mishmash of meaningless nothing. Sometimes he says something that makes sense but he is endlessly contradictory. However I think he knows that people don’t actually listen and it serves him well

I also think he knows that because people like the general thrust of some one who appears antiestablishment he can make it up as he goes along as long as he appears to be challenging tte status quo

He listens and pays attention closely to what might work. thats what narcissists do - they know how to play the game. Until they have you hooked - and they mix it up so people are confused. And then they don’t really care what they do. Too late if you’ve jumped on board

many of their values are weakly held because they can’t afford to be solid on them - otherwise they can’t chop and change according to what they think will work. The only solid thing is their need to big note themselves and to base their thoughts and actions on when they think benefits them. And what benefits them is basically about trying to fill a deep void.

Much of their behaviour is completely subconscious- most at two levels - the scheming is not even visible to them. The lying or story telling is easy because they believe whatever they say.

trump did a deal with evangelicals to win power. There is no way he supports family values (and I bet a few women have been encouraged to have an abortion)

do what does trump have to offer? Not being the same. Confidence. Not playing the sane rules (though he actually does). Promising things (and not caring if he delivers or not)

maybe I’m jaundiced but all the red flags are there - but I can also understand based on experience- how easy it is to overlook the red flags

and who knows - he may well cause everything about America to be turned on its head and that’s needed. Just fit loud tte idea for f tte handmaidens tale coming into being
