My alternate view, Scoto, is that he has gained no more votes than he had before (the paper cut), and that many of his followers will now assume he's a shoe-in by a country mile and not bother to show up at the ballet box. Conversely, democrat supporters have just had the fear of god put up their freckle (literally) and the prospect of a 'Handmaid's Tale' future if Trump and Vance win, so they will come out in force to the polling booths. A repeat of the 2020 election.
I might add here that the politics here are immaterial. My views are purely based on the phycology/direction of humans, given the interplay of criteria.
