@La Tache, fantastic post and sentiments, you summed up so many realities of HC and the 'role' I choose to play succinctly (wish i could say more with less words redface.png). Thank you, and I'll consider how to reach out off HC about the Viking disease...

I'm no "white knight", don't give my time with gentle understanding and goodwill just for the benefit of others... do it for myself primarily. I'm antagonistic with rampers to create a sense competition that puts my ego on the line and motivates me to get it right. I do enjoy digging into all aspects of resource projects, wandering off reading obscure papers, but without skin in the game I'd get lazy with nobody to share it with. Every project i dig deeply into increases my knowledge and skill at digging and finding answers, which makes me a much better investor and more likely to find those genuine high reward-risk juniors to swing big at, instead of gambling or trading for pips.

So no, I'm not at all altruistic, but at the same time I do try to give a lot of my time to share my experience with some entertaining niggle and banter thrown in. As La Tache says, bears cannot explain why companies are wrong or overly optimistic in short sound bites. Without substantiation and explanation of the process and facts that lead to a conclusion it would be pointless... nobody would give unsubstantiated negativity any weight, and more importantly, nobody would learn how to better verify a company's narrative against invariably there if you know how to look.

My posting signature is typically pompous for the character i like to play, but if you've seen the Matrix movie you'd understand the premise... take the blue pill and believe management's reality and optimism makes for a happy and comfortable investment just like being plugged into the machine. Red pill and unplug means being suspicious and cynical of everything, because once you start seeing what is happening behind the lines of text scrolling down the ASX machine it's impossible to go back to comfortable ignorance. Not always conducive to jumping on winners when suspicion overrides opportunity, but it's difficult to have it both ways... "even though I know this steak isn;t real, it tastes delicious"

All this could be done over a few beers in quick time with good humour and easy understanding. Then again, you can't communicate with more than a few people in person and you certainly can't keep fighting with them tongue.png. IMO readers enjoy some edgy niggle and banter, the idea we are all thin-skinned snowflakes who need HC to be a sanitised safe space is boring and counter-productive to seeking the truth from robust debate. At the same time I'm cognoscente that the 'industry' won;t function well if too many people like me hose down too many projects too early. It is what it is, and ultimately, I do what I do for my own entertainment as a favourite hobby that isn;t bad for my health...
