you may be right ......but Ukraine would be stupid to GIVE that guarantee and hence deprive themselves of western support against russian aggresssion - russia are suffering greatly from thsi war of attrition too and putin can't go on indefinitely

russia has lost hugely through this war .....there officila interest rate in russia is 16% ....Gazprom had a huge loss .....a huge portion of the russ budget is devoted to the war and infrastructure and the people of russia are suffering from that .
Sweden and Finaland have joined NATO which leaves russia hugely worse off strategicaly due to this war .
russia has to sell it's oil to China - cheap !
5 times now the UN has voted against russia over thios war ....four tiny countries recogniose russias annexation.....and neutral Switzerland has even turned on russia
Old allies like Kazkhstan have turned a way from russia , Armenia too and Serbia not suporting russia .

this war was never about security ...russia has nukes and knew the west would never attack them ....and Ukraine wasn't in NATO and wasn't going to be in NATO .....that wasn't the reason .

NATO could attack russia now if they wanted while rusisa is weak with soldiers killed and stockiles of weapons depleted .....but russia has draggeds all it's border forces to fight in Ukraine which virtually admits putin KNEW the west was never a threat to russia ......it's clearly the other way around .
