CrowdStrike issued a fairly boring virus file update. Common as process. The file caused an issue while updating, bang - bluescreen of death followed by repeated reboots.
Annoying on a company laptop, but disastrous on a Windows server that runs the system for say... an Airline login system for 9,000 terminals.
Or Coles,
etc.
Now the fix has been released, but every machine is in a boot loop.
So they need someone to manually interupt, boot into safe mode, delete an offending file (and that may require entering a Bitlocker key that is as long as your arm) and then.. waiting.
