Settlement of T+2 is set by the ASX, not the brokers. I expect their (ASX) blockchain-based new platform project was intended to facilitate same-day settlement but that ended up as an expensive farce.
I think your experience tallies with a large demographic of SelfWealth users, I'm also a refugee from Westpac. There's the occasional valid criticism on here but (from the obsessiveness, frequency and lack of objectivity) it's obvious most of the prolific haters on here are actively marketing for other platforms, possibly in some form of paid capacity.
