I'm not au fait enough to comment on the issues of concern, but I have a gut feel that the 'ol boys club' is alive and well in the government and financial circles.

For instance; say a fellow high up in the financial industry has a buddy/relative (whatever), that has political aspirations and they go, "Maybe I can help".

Said person gets elected and down the track gets pressured to clean up the industry that the finance person is very involved in.

Catch 22!

This was a huge issue during the 2008 GFC. Many were related, but in opposing positions.

Remotely similar was the Kennedy assassination.

JFK and Frank (ol blue eyes), were thick a thieves and Jack wanted to be president, but needed the Mafia on board.
Frank fixed that up for Jack, but Bobbie being in charge of corruption, had different ideas about pandering to the syndicate.

The mob did Jack at Dallas and later Bobbie at Los Angeles as we all at least suspect.

Looks like we may have a similar historical repeat with Target Trump - at least the conspiracy theories will ramp up.
Thomas Crooks (patsy ?) shot by secret service (government) before he could say "I've been set up".

Government cannot govern when they have vested interest in the problem.
