''I noted at the start of Vance's speech he joked that Trump has made his pick (for vice president) and now he (Trump) was stuck with him. That in itself tells me that he has his own agenda and Trump can't do jack about it now.''

certainly an interesting thing to say (god knows why he would have said it)
    and ominous

    ''Trump is a lucky idiot,''

whether I agree with that or not (I have mixed feelings - and it's way too easy to think that or let it fall from the lips) ------

I believe that it's a huge mistake to think so

    why?

because it underestimates Trump. The certain way to lose is to underestimate the opposition.

Before the last election - Michael Moore said that whilst we often feel and say that Trump is an idiot ----------- it's not a smart way to think -

that we should more think of him as an 'evil genius' - and that we should get into our heads that he's capable of anything

whatever he is - he's a formidable opposition. Vance and his associates might think that they have Trump --------- 'we've got this' - but, they would be way way way overconfident if they think that - IMO

Trump has some admirable qualities - he's very bloody persistent, he's come back from the almost dead several times, he's got a lot of people on a string, he's got a mindset to do almost anything to get what he wants (might not be admirable - but, it's effective), there is no way he should be underestimated
