AEMO's coalition appointed CEO, points out that nuclear is too slow ( no real prospect of it being delivered before 2050), too expensive and its (AP1000) requirement to be always on, make it unsuitable to deal with the flexibility required of a high renewable grid.
If Dutton is so sure large scale nuclear is Australia's answer, why didn't he propose it when they were in government? As he stated as recently ago as March 2023
"I don't support the establishment of big nuclear facilities here at all. I'm opposed to it."
