Fascinating as always. When I explained the tech to my dentist, who is also a dental surgeon, her response was around the inability to identify the cancer cells, especially type etc. The key is the AI and database doing this for them. Then there is the cost of a machine justifying the demand. I live in area with a high number of elderly though, so next visit I will ask again about her feelings on this if it was within her skill set. My feeling is that not every clinic would see the cost benefit and it will be more of a centralised location which the dentists refer to.

Other types of clinics is a different matter though, eg my skin clinic who last week removed some squamous areas. I have just done the biopsy experience - he took 5 slices for biopsy and a week later returned for two 'chunks' taken out, and then another few days later to be told - 'all clear now'.

Now what I had done was nothing compared to people who have much more serious operations for cancer removal. For their sake, I hope the tech Optiscan is developing gets out into the healthcare system sooner rather than later.
