The private sector is that bad, it is even dangerous to make an enquiry these days! The idiots put in the data on the their computer system to make an assessment whether u qualify and when u tell them that u are not interested in proceeding they don’t delete info that they inputted.
I did an experiment with Bank of Queensland, the last time I had an account with them was over 10 years ago.
I went to branch pretending that I wish to open a term deposit….mentioned that I was a past customer and whether they still had me on their system. I had expectations that I would needed to provided documentation for identification reasons, not so, I was still on their system
