If Higgins offer is deemed by the judge to be inadequate Higgins could be up for Reynolds costs. On the other hand if Higgins made an offer the judge deems reasonable he can award the case to Reynolds, but also require Reynolds to pay Higgins costs on the grounds that the legal process should have been settled by Reynolds at the mediation. . I had a feeling that reynolds wanted more than money. The issue for her was not purely financial but her sense of being wronged. On the other hand she didn’t think calling Higgins a lying cow was defamatory
