Technically 001
if the company is able to buy back below "underlying value" (and that's a big if) then :
- number of shares on issue decreases
- average earnings per share increases
- dividends per share increases
- and increased franking credits come with increased dividends.
That's the theory, but it doesn't always work out that way.
Alot of money has been lost by investors who thought they knew what underlying value was.
