I read this somewhere and it stuck. All about the wording and the meaning.
This is my take of it If you take a golf ball and a golf club and hit the ball around, you are playing golf. If you take a cricket ball and a cricket bat and hit it around, you are playing cricket. If you take a cricket ball and hit it with a golf club, you are playing something, but it isn't cricket and it isn't golf. It will require a new name.
