The poster is just throwing out random numbers. The verdict on this acquisition is only going to be known after a number of years.
Some investors are short-sighted and would prefer dividends over re-investment that can have a much higher rate of return.
WDS' strategy is clear, and they have been more disciplined with capital compared to other operators in the resources space. We'll just have to wait and see. WDS can't control market reactions, or resources prices. It is just part of the game of investing into resources.
Personally, I think energy is the one of the few sectors where there is value to be had in such an expensive market. (In the large cap space, that is).
