Power prices have risen over 20% in the past year because more gas has been demanded to supplement the wind turbines which have supplied around 20% less power than a year ago.As the coal-fired power stations become less reliable and closed, there will be an increasing need for more gas-fired power stations and new supplies of affordable natural gas. This is for decades to come.
Even Blackout Bowen is starting to realise the importance of more gas supplies to firm renewable energy sources.
