Meteoric Resources, It was one of the three rare earths hopefuls, whose shares were halted on Wednesday ahead of equity raises – all of which were small and done at significant discounts amid a weaker market for the commodity class.
Gina Rinehart-backed Arafura Rare Earths sought $27 million – compared to the $US793 million equity raise it has said it needs – and still had to cop a 15.8 per cent discount to the last close despite announcing a $1.5 billion debt package a day earlier. In VHM Limited’s case, the discount was a whopping 27.6 per cent.
