I think the green steel strategy is not sound because it relies on a future technology, and we need immediate action, by definition from current technologies. (A key finding from the "Absolute Zero" report led by Cambridge University https://ukfires.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Absolute-Zero-online.pdf)
The new fleet: burning diesel is a nightmare, but it is only one source of emissions. All the other sources remain, including those from manufacturing the fleet AND the massive wind and solar farm to charge it, and replacing it when it wears out.
