Its getting a bit off topic, but worth the discussion.
I'm not sure it will go away, I think its getting worse.
People are not skeptical enough, I've noticed a lot of it in people i know personally as well.
They seem to listen/read a source that they have alignment with and immediately agree with that, then they start spouting assertions based on that view without backing up the sources or referances. They dont seem to understand that a source they trust can get it wrong sometimes, people just dont seem to have the built in automatic skeptical reaction they really should have.
To me the issue at heart is the "binaryism" that seems to be settling into society... its all us or them, right or wrong, left or right.
There is no willingness to accept that the world is shades of grey and trusted sources can be wrong sometimes and "the other side" can be right sometimes.
It worries me.
