Probably for the best, people would just whinge anyway. Ungrateful as people are.
It wasn't always smooth sailing but ERA has been very good to community and aboriginal interest. At its peak ERA employed about 20% aboriginals, no doubt well paid. Jabiru would be even more lucrative than Ranger and with modern mining methods would pose no danger. But some who I won't name would rather be close to the land than make money for generations but still have no issues pulling the victim card
all in all ERA has contributed
