The value is in the anti-cancer efficacy, which is why compounds like dexrazoxane really aren't worth anything. It's anti-cancer effects first and foremost, then cardioprotection thereafter.
Anti-cancer drugs with novel mechanisms of action drive multi-billion dollar buyouts, not cardioprotective agents. All you need to do is show me a multi-billion dollar cardioprotection buyout example.
