I’m a below average earner and so is my wife and I would never vote Labor. I worked for small businesses, in retail, for two decades and did just wonderful under a coalition government.
The coalition support small business and in turn the businesses were in a position to pay us a little more than they had to.
Never earned big money, but will be a self funded retiree when the time comes. Most low paid people lack drive and sufficient discipline to get ahead and then like to blame everyone else including the government.
