Who would build a battery factory without some sort of baseline long-term spod or lithium carbonate supply contract in place. In addition The complete commoditisation of a material generally requires an easy to meet standard or the standard doesn't matter to the downstream process. Leta say pure copper. copler is copper right. aluminium ingots are aluminium ingots.
In this market its not always Spod 5.5 percent and the other elements making up the 95 percent requiring removal are not always the same. Hence the downstream consuming process may want the same upstream supply to optimise against.
How would the Calix intermediate product get started without long term downstream partners.
