The contractor gets paid back costs first, then BC8 gets the next $30m cash, and then they share profits on a 50/50 after that. I think that BC8 could decide to go its own way with its own machines and operators after the first 52k ounces if they want. That would increase their profitability. I dont know if they will do that, but its an obvious option for them. They become their own contractors and pocket the savings. The current deal is highly motivating for the contractors and it looks like they are already ahead of schedule. This deal is for 52k ounces only. The Kal East area has another 1.2m ounces with all assets remaining open. They wont be running out of mine life for decades imo.
If BC8 build the Kal East plant from the cash flow, then any surrounding ounces looking for a mill could end up through BC8's plant. All their mills should end up attracting toll treatment ounces. dyor
