Yeah (in hindsight) I wonder if the error was self funding the appeal legal costs. It meant there was no reason for the litigation firm to stay in the game, they weren't going to make any more money and from their point of view it was all downside risk. I was not aware we the agreement said we had to take their advice on any settlement.

Still good money to be made here but it's actually hard to say what has been deposited beyond the first payment. GOT have more incentive to stick with the deal given the pretty generous terms but besides comnon sense there's no reason they couldn't just baulk at the next payment.
