Don't you think that we need investors to provide housing to the masses given that Governments have failed to fund and build enough social housing?
Now that investors are leaving this space, especially in Victoria, we are seeing that Govt's are failing to fill the void and that there is a severe social cost with more and more vulnerable people becoming homeless. Think of the children growing up in this mess, cold, hungry and living in tents waiting decades for help.
I think it would be cheaper to provide tax incentives to investors who supply housing than for Govt's to do this all by themselves. Governments are inefficient, just look at the NDIS, and private enterprise IS efficient, at least more so than Govt's.
