"What is the relationship between the Father and Jesus is not basic."

According to the Bible truth, it is very basic.

The Father is Spirit the Holy, the Father of Jesus -> The 2nd Adam Man.
And God (Father) was/is the Word and his words are his spirit person expressed (as with us), so when Jesus expressed them out, he became the express image of the Fathers Person.

The firstborn of God's inner creation, was for a Jesus to be, born from Mary.
All other things were created with this future one in mind and for him.
In this plan, the future one was slain from the foundation of the world, so he could be the firstborn from the dead, and then physically hold preeminence in all things.
The Father has placed all things under him, until death no more, when the Son then hands the Kingdom over to the Father and is then subject to him, so that the Father maybe all in all.

I and the Father are one = in word = all of the above and more, Jesus come into the world after his Baptism to do the Fathers will, complete the Fathers works.

Jesus became the Key representative of the Fathers words and named accordingly -> The Word of God.
No no other name under heaven to which you are to be saved.
The Word = Father and the Word of God = Son.
Word God - image of -> Word Man.
Son = a Word of God (deemed as, but titled "The").

The Son became the Temple that the Father dwelt in.
Foreshadow of this -> Ex 40:34 - Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of Yehowah filled the tabernacle.
1:14 And the Word Man became and dwelt in us and we beheld the glory of it (Him) glory as only begotten by the side of the Father, full of grace and truth.

"By the side of the Father" -> John 17:22 - And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: = I and the Father are one = One in Word.
