If Rex disappears, it would be nice to see Alliance (AQZ) take over the regional services and the SAAB 340s.
As an operator of older aircraft such as the Fokker F100s and F70s, Alliance should be able to manage the SAABs. More to the point, Alliance are shrewd purchasers of secondhand aircraft and could find interesting replacements for the SAABs.
It will most likely take some Government assistance to make this happen, however. Rex kept pushing the can down the road for too long with no plan for SAAB replacement coming to light.
