We have a processing limit in our licence. We have (unsuccessfully) applied a couple of times to have this changed.
I am sure CJ is still here posting his rubbish charts saying the LYC team hasn't delivered on the production capacity. The reason for this is the processing limit, NOT due to any other issues. I debunked this year ago, and it has been confirmed by AL. Indeed, I very much suspect we timed our most recent shutdown at the end of last year due to us getting close to the limit.
However, it will become a moot point as carbonate product from Kal starts replacing concentrate input. Also, should we chose to re-apply a change in processing limit, it would likely be successful (given the developments in the past year).
It will likely be in Malaysias interest: I bet is we will soon get news of sourcing extra heavies from Malaysian monazite/clay deposits..
