moral equivalency? I think moral relativism is the term you are looking for.

And, for the record, I believe our Western democratic values to be superior to alternatives. So I am not that much of a moral relativist after all. Indeed, in supporting the right of people to wear whatever they want, I am supporting our democratic, liberal, Western values.

If a bank wants to insist "no helmets", "no burkhas" I have no problem with that, although I suspect, anyone robbing a bank is not going to be too bothered about obeying those signs..........
