Perhaps, or it's a cynically honest appraisal our current energy policies.
Less coal, nuclear, and hydro = more demand for gas power.
More solar and wind = more demand for gas power.
Extreme electricity price inflation = more demand for gas heating.
Grid scale battery storage can ameliorate some of that demand increase - but their utility is measured in minutes, not hours.
Solar panels never work at night. Windmills don't work when the wind is too low.
