It sends a strong message when a company is unprofitable, and the founder/CEO nominates a remuneration package for himself that the company struggles to maintain. It shows he/she puts themselves and their lifestyle ahead of the company.
Some may say 'well shareholders voted it in, so it's all above board's. Let's face it, voting in ASX companies is a joke, so that argument doesn't hold.
