They’re getting data on Bloomberg earlier than retail, and phonecalls / texts on market rumours from others in the industry, friendly journos calling up to cross check stories etc… all fairly normal market behaviours whether you like it or not. Retail don’t get access to that because they don’t have the connections, so they misread the situation and assume “shorts knew this way before us”, etc etc. I suspect that’s just the point @Rue555 is making, nothing more.
