@ppm56Howdy,
"
One might describe such a person as "interpretively selective" or someone who engages in "eisegesis," which is the process of interpreting a text by reading one's own ideas or biases into it, rather than deriving meaning from the text itself"Would that be like the addition of Blue in the following, YOUR WORDS, NOT MINE?
This now is the eternal life that they should know You (Father) the only true God
= Father, Son and Holy Spirit and whom you have sent, Jesus Christ.
And denying Jesus's clear words, showing that he independently of himself, references the Father as the only true God, when he was here?
(That is so clear and obvious, that is goes without saying,
as they would say in the legal terms).
Yep, I get what Ya mean all right, you're describing yourself to a Tee
Tip, don't look in the mirror when posting LOL.
---------------
As requested many times, which you'reavoiding like the plague,show where Jesus was worshiped as a baby etc, that he was worshipedas God or a God."You will also not find anything else to what Jesus did later on, as it hasn’t been revealed as yet"
That is no more that a back door, to avoid the above obvious clear point.
------------
"You should be well aware of, while the New Testament contains accounts of reverence and honors directed toward Jesus as an infant, like the visits from the Magi and the shepherds, it doesn't explicitly state that he was worshiped as God in the same way that later Christians worshiped him. Those early instances reflect acknowledgment of his significance as the expected Messiah rather than a formal recognition of him as divine or a part of the Godhead."
It doesn't state he was worship as God, because he was NOT God, as he clearly, in his words shows us in John 17:3.
To boot, he did not accept their claim that he was making out to be God, and countered this by saying -> you say I blaspheme BECAUSE I said I am the Son of God = NO acknowledgement of Jesus that he was making out to be God.
In both instances, he was pretty much worshiped for the same reasons, Yehowah's promises unfolded, unfolding etc.
There is NO such word as "Godhead" in the Bible, DYOR in the Inter, it does not exist.
Even if you want to ADD to the Bible, he was not part of the Godhead, as in 3 persons making one God, he was/is the Son of the Only True God and Father that he references in John 17:3.
--------------
"Jesus as God during his infancy, such explicit mentions are not present in the text."
Because there was no such thing as him being a God, before the cross.
After the cross, he became a begotten God John 1:18, confirming his words in John 17:3.
--------------
"The understanding of Jesus as God developed in the early church after his ministry."
That could only be as the Bible shows, a begotten God after the cross and him being glorified.
----------------
"Jesus in a divine light over time."
Divine;
1. Of God = as per his birth, re Mary - 2nd Adam Man.
2. Like God. = He was raised in the word by God Deu 18:18, express image of God when expressing his words.
All power etc given to him, God doing all the miracles through him, etc.
3. A God = After the cross, glorified - a Begotten God.
----------------
ONCE AGAIN, YOUR SERMON ON 17:3 DOES NOT ADDRESS THE CLEAR AND OBVIOUS AS FOLLOWING;
Jesus independently of himself, defines, references the Father as the ONLY True God when he was here, confirmed in John 1:18 where after the cross he is glorified and referenced as an only begotten God.
Jesus makes ZERO reference that you need to also know a separate Holy Spirit person, as well as the Only true God and Himself, for eternal life.
THE KEY POINT OF 17:3 -> 1. THIS NOW IS ETERNAL LIFE.
2. CONDITIONS OF THIS ETERNAL LIFE -> Knowing the only true God and whom he sent = Jesus Christ the Son of the Only true God.
(Naturally that would include knowing the only true Jesus, 2nd Adam Man).
2a. Actually knowing who and what they are.
2b. after a, you are then in a position to develop a relationship with Them, instead of the figment of your imaginations.
That is the end of this very simple and INTENED message of Jesus's and what he may have been going through, re approaching the cross etc, has absolutely ZERO to do with his message HERE.
That line of thinking, is per desperation, grasping at straws, to avoid addressing the Key valid points raised, as you have repeatedly done.NO VERSE WHATSOEVER SAYS, THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW A HOLY SPIRIT PERSON AS WELL AS THE FATHER AND SON, FOR ETERNAL LIFE.
