In an environment of continuous improvement and ongoing sales of product, I'm not particularly fussed on whether a point called "commissioned" has passed or not. I will note that the release said all sections of the plant are commissioned, it did not state that the full end-to-end process chain was commissioned.

I also question that "cannot be operated continuously for 48 hours " (my emphasis again). We only know that the shares have not been issued (or at least not long enough to have been reported yet). We don't know if that is because the plant cannot be operated or only that it has not been operated for 48 hours yet. It appears that there are lots of tweaks and settings that can be altered, and a 12-hour overnight shift is a convenient time to run an experiment to see which output measures improved and by how much, and whether the negatives outweigh the positives.

I don't know how long it takes to reach a new steady state with ore input going through to becoming concentrate and tailings, Perhaps 12 hours is about the right time to run to get a clear indication of what the effects of yesterday's changes were. Then the day shift does the analysis and changes for the next night run. Maybe the lab and most maintenance engineers don't work night shifts.
