Re 'experts' - Worthwhile observation tony. Absolutely every 'expert' I've heard for months has down-ramped the big banks ... in some cases, ridiculed them. They haven't just designated them a hold, but an immediate sell, and wash your hands with soap and hot water after you've tossed them.
That includes all the wonderkids and Nostradamuses on that program hosted by the shiny-headed expert footy president from a harbourside Adelaide locale where water-going vessels come and go.
I felt supported to offload a little more than half of the oldest of mine (which had a huge CGT attached and felt like a millstone around my neck). I've watched on while they have gone up another 10% and I will now owe the tax office .... well, a lot.
These guys are a&@#holes. Who knows, they or their paying clients might even be picking up the ones sold under their advisement. Is their any assessment made on experts' recommendations? Is their any penalty for them getting it wrong, wrong, wrong? Nada!
Sorry for the rant, but now I don't know whether to barrack for a slide while I still have skin in the game. They'd have to go down quite a bit before I bought back in now.
