Most cars in Aus with a crook motor are either scrapped
or a wrecker or Japanese import used engine is fitted.
Both reconditioned or "remanufactured" (a label to justify a higher price)
engines are simply too expensive even in short block form unless for a
vintage/racer or classic car where the car is worth $30K+
We have half a dozen high volume workshops locally who bung in
either wrecker used or used Japanese import engines .....otherwise
such cars would be economic wrecks.
