I'm not 100% convinced that the Oz Government isn't interested LTI, for instance if you read the document below it talks about how some of the Australian Defense departments are across anything to do with metalstorm when they export their weapons for show, and exactly the same thing would apply to weapons exported for sale.

So the deal with PNG had the Approval of some of these DOD departments and hence the Oz Government tick of approval as well, there is no doubt now about this after reading this PDF and you would have to think that if they were prepared to allow it's export, then perhaps they would be prepared to use it themselves?
